An independent shop since 2016
Clothes and homeware worth keeping, on Marlow Lane
I'm Nell, and I choose every piece in here myself: lambswool knits, linen you can wash at home, hand thrown ceramics and cards you'd want to keep. Come and try things on. There's an hour of free parking right outside the door.

Everything here is in the shop today, in sizes 8 to 18. Ring me and I'll put anything by with your name on it, or come and see it in the flesh with a coffee from next door.

Why people keep coming back
You can try it on, ask what I think, and walk out wearing it
I opened Marlow Lane in 2016 with one rail, a kettle and a lot of hope. Ten years on I still buy in small numbers from makers I've met, which is why you rarely see the same coat twice on the same street.
If a thing doesn't suit you I will say so, and I'd rather you left with nothing than with something that stays in the wardrobe. That's how people end up coming back for fifteen years.

The window changes every week and the kettle is always on. Most people call in for a card and leave having found the thing they'd stopped looking for.

What's landed, and what I'd wear it with
A short note every few weeks, written at the counter. Mostly new arrivals, sometimes the makers behind them, occasionally how to stop your linen going stiff.
Five ways to wear the linen midi past September
It works with boots. Here's how I'd layer it for the school run, and how I'd wear the same dress to an autumn wedding.
