The full day

£1,450Getting ready to last song

I arrive while the kettle is still boiling and leave after the sparklers. This is the whole story of the day, and it is the collection most couples choose because the morning and the dancing turn out to be where half the best photographs live.

The price is the same in January and July, on a Tuesday or a Saturday.

The add-on

An hour of practice, before it counts

Most people think they are awkward in front of a camera. They are not, they are just unrehearsed. An engagement shoot is two hours somewhere you both like, walking and talking while I work, and by the end you have stopped noticing me. That is the whole trick, and it is why couples who do this relax so much faster on the day itself.

You also get a set of photographs of the two of you that were not taken on a phone, which turn out to be rarer than you think.

Kind words

“She was everywhere and nowhere all day. The photographs made my mum cry, twice.”

Beth & Tom · Married in June

★★★★★

We are both hopeless in front of a camera and Ada just let us get on with our day. The gallery landed two weeks early and we sat on the sofa going through it twice in a row.

Priya & Sam · Married in September

★★★★★

It rained from eleven until four and you would never know. Ada had us out between showers and the photographs from that hour are the ones on our wall.

Hannah & Ross · Married in April

★★★★★

We had seventeen guests in a village hall and it was still treated like the biggest wedding of the year. The price she quoted was the price we paid.

Marie & Jo · Married in February

★★★★★

Our venue was ninety minutes from anywhere, up a farm track. Ada arrived before the hairdresser and never once looked at her watch.

Eleanor & Chris · Married in August

★★★★★

We gave her a list of six group photographs. She had them done in twenty minutes and we were back with our guests before the drinks trays emptied.

Dan & Steph · Married in May

★★★★★

The ten photographs that arrived the next morning got passed round the whole breakfast table. Somehow the full gallery got even better from there.

The boring bit, done properly

How booking actually works

Four things, all in writing, all before you pay anything.

£200 holds it

A £200 deposit takes your date off the market the day you pay it. It comes off the final balance, and nobody else can book that Saturday from that moment.

Balance, month before

The rest is due one month before the wedding, so there is nothing to think about in the final weeks and no envelope to remember on the day.

A proper contract

Everything on this page, in writing, signed by both of us. What is included, when the gallery arrives, what happens if plans change.

If I am ill

It has never happened in eleven years, but there is a small circle of photographers I trust who would step in, and my contract says so out loud.
